Vizianagaram is an important city of the south Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Vizianagaram literally translates to ‘city of victory’. It is an essential center for commerce and education of the state. Located just 42 km from Vishakhapatnam, it is slowly becoming the choice of many. Apart from being an important city of the state, Vizianagaram is also the district headquarters of the Vizianagaram district in Andhra Pradesh. Vizianagaram district was formed on 1 June 1979.
